The Challenge
- Promote the launch of PokerStars new product offering- Home Games. Home Games allows users to create and manage their own private poker club online, playing against friends at times they chose.
- Use online media channels to help bring the new feature to life, and encourage users to get involved and start playing poker online against their friends.
Our Response
- Working closely with PokerStars and our two media partners, TimeOut.com and Dailystar.co.uk ,we created two private Home Games that allowed users to play against the editorial team of each site. Users had to first qualify for the home game by playing in one of the daily free-roll tournaments that lead up to the main event.
- Both the free-rolls and Home Games were promoted via online advertorials on each of the partner sites along with supporting media that included standard banner formats, promo buttons, online editorial and advertorials in the corresponding print titles.
- Running along side the main campaign we used a combination of targeted network buys, portals and contextual pop unders to promote the wider Home Games offering and drive users through to the website where they could find out more and create a new account.
Results
- Delivered close to 1 million clicks to the PokerStars site during the two week campaign period
- Delivered healthy volume of post click sign ups and funded accounts
- Both Daily Star and TimeOut Home Games were a huge success with users chatting online to the editorial team throughout the tournament and asking for more similar events to be put on.
